Home visits are reserved for those patients who are genuinely housebound and too ill or infirm to get to the surgery. They should not be requested if it is simply inconvenient to travel here or if you do not have your own transport.
A doctor can usually see four people at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit, so please use the service wisely.

Home visits are normally undertaken by the doctors after their morning surgery so if you do require a home visit, please telephone the surgery as early as possible so that the doctors and district nurses can plan their rounds.

Requests after midday should be for emergencies only and will be taken by the duty doctor.
